"They talk about this payroll and that payroll, but it's still difficult to do," Jeter said.

feeling defensive? i would too if my boss shelled out over a billion fucking dollars and he had nothing to show for it! what a joke the yanks are....

That's just Jeter being Jeter.

Feeling a wee bit bitter this morning, Ric-O? Maybe the Sox wouldn't have suffered a total meltdown if Henry had been more concerned with winning than making a better profit. He could have done something to shore his squad up when it was trade deadline time, but was more worried about coughing up luxury tax bucks.

He decided he wanted to keep his money in his pocket, to compete in the Beacon Hill real estate league instead of the AL East. He wrote the season off, starting with not re-signing Damon and then passing on Abreu, or letting Epstein do anything to shore up the pitching staff.

Don't be hating on DBG because he puts his money on the field.

what moron would run a business to lose money? DBG. that's who!

What in God's name makes you believe DBG loses money? The YES Network alone is a damn ATM... can you imagine how much he makes from whatever channel in Japan carries the Yankee games so Matsui's fans in Rising Sun land can see Godzilla? Judging by the size of the Japanese media gaggle that follows his every fart, I'd say it's a very big number.

Prices at the Stadium are completely retarded, yet the attendence numbers are always setting new records. Then factor in all the liscencing deals and ancillary stuff and Boss cleans up even after forking over all those salaries.
